(A) The provisions of this chapter shall apply to all installations of electrical conductors, fittings, devices, appliances and fixtures, hereinafter referred to as “electrical equipment,” within or on private and public buildings and premises. However, the following general exceptions shall apply: the provisions of this chapter shall not apply to electrical wiring expressly declared to be exempt from the provisions of this chapter by any sections hereof or by any other provisions of the rules adopted in § 157.003.
(B) As used in this chapter, REASONABLY SAFE TO PERSONS AND PROPERTY, as applied to electrical installations and electrical equipment, means safe to use in the service for which the installation or equipment is intended without unnecessary hazard to life, limb or property.
