(A) No permit shall be required or fee charged on repairs to existing equipment where the price charged to the customer is less than $200. The minimum fee for any permit shall be not less than $15. Any time an inspection reveals a poor installation and the Inspector has to make a second inspection, a re-inspection fee of $15 will be charged. For equipment covered by this chapter whose fees are not shown, fees shall be determined by the Mechanical Inspector.
(B) Mechanical permit fees shall be as follows:
(1) For cooling and refrigeration permits where HP (horsepower) is not shown, fees shall be based on: 1 ton = 1 HP = 12,000 BTU (British Thermal Units). For hydronic permits where HP (horsepower) is not shown, fees shall be based on: 1 HP = 33,500 BTU (British Thermal Units).
(a) Each forced-air or gravity furnace, unit heater, space heater, radiant, infra-red heater or other similarly listed appliance:

Over 1,000,000 through 10,000,000 BTU | $50 |

(2) Each air conditioner regardless of size utilizing any voltage:

(3) Air conditioners (window units only) operating on less than 300 volts shall not require permits.
(4) Each cooling tower: $15.
(5) Each boiler (steam/hot water):

(6) Each hydronic unit heater or fan coil unit: $10.

(10) No permit fee shall be charged for portable refrigeration equipment as provided herein.
(11) Each commercial kitchen exhaust hood: $30.
(12) Each gas/oil conversion: $15.
(13) Replacement vent or flue: $15.
(14) Repair work: $15.
(15) Other listed unit (Determined by Mechanical Inspector).
(B) When ductwork is installed in conjunction with the installation of new equipment requiring a permit and installed under that permit, no additional permit shall be required. The permit fee for ductwork not covered by another permit shall be as follows:
1 through 20 outlets | $15 |
Over 20 through 100 outlets | $50 |
Over 100 outlets | $100 |
(C) When gas piping is installed in conjunction with the installation of new equipment requiring a permit and installed under that permit, no additional permit shall be required. The permit fee for gas piping not covered by another permit shall be as follows:
1 through 20 outlets | $15 |
Over 20 through 100 outlets | $50 |
Over 100 outlets | $100 |
(D) When hydronic piping is installed in conjunction with the installation of new equipment requiring a permit and installed under that permit, no additional permit shall be required. The permit fee for hydronic piping not covered by another permit shall be as follows:
1 through 20 outlets | $15 |
Over 20 through 100 outlets | $50 |
Over 100 outlets | $100 |
(E) Incinerators:
Up through 10 bushels | $15 |
Over 10 bushels | $50 |
(F) Fireplaces, fireplace inserts and wood-burning stoves shall require mechanical permits if connected to heating, cooling or ventilation system.
