(A) In any new building or addition, immediately upon completion of those portions of the installation which are thereafter to be concealed or covered, the mechanical contractor shall notify the Inspector or proper Department, giving the location of the work, that the portions of the installation are ready for inspection. The notification shall be given not less than 24 hours before the work is to be inspected.
(B) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to lathe over, plaster or cover up any heating or mechanical refrigeration work or any apparatus covered by this chapter before such work has been inspected.
(C) Upon notification, it shall be the duty of the Inspector to inspect the work within 48 hours, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays excluded.
(D) Final inspection on new installation is to be made upon completion of the work. It is the responsibility of the contractor to notify the Inspector in a timely manner when the work is ready for final inspection. Inspection of repair, replacement or conversion work is to be made upon completion of the work.
(E) Whenever any work has been so covered or concealed by lathing; plastering, flooring, concrete or otherwise before the Inspector has had ample opportunity to inspect it, then the Inspector shall have the right and authority to order the work to be opened or uncovered in order that a proper inspection can be made.
