8-8-6: TRUCKS ON PUBLIC WAYS:

No vehicle in excess of three (3) tons' gross weight shall cross over or upon any public right of way improved with curb and gutter or sidewalk except on established driveways unless the owner and driver of said vehicle shall have first obtained from the department of engineering and community development of the village a permit to so do. No such permit shall be issued unless the department of engineering and community development is satisfied that appropriate precautions are to be taken to safeguard public improvements from injury and/or damage.
