6-3-7-1: BICYCLE LICENSES:
   A.   License Required: It shall be unlawful for any person who resides within this Village to ride or propel a bicycle on any street or upon any public path set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles within the Village unless such bicycle has been licensed and a license plate or sticker is attached thereto as provided herein.
   B.   Application For License; Issuance: Application for bicycle licenses shall be made to the Police Department. At the time of such application, the owner or operator shall furnish the Police Department with the following information:
      1.   Name and address of owner and/or operator of bicycle.
      2.   Make of bicycle.
      3.   Color, size and type of bicycle.
      4.   Manufacturer's serial number, if any.
Upon application as herein provided, the Police Department shall issue or cause to be issued a sticker bearing the words "Elk Grove Village Illinois Bicycle License" and the license number assigned to the bicycle.
   C.   Sticker:
      1.   The owner or operator shall cause the license sticker, issued by the Police Department, to be firmly attached under the seat of the bicycle for which issued, in such position as to be plainly visible.
      2.   Loss of license or bicycle with license attached shall be reported immediately to the Police Department.
      3.   No person shall remove a license sticker from a bicycle except upon a transfer of ownership or in the event the bicycle is dismantled and no longer operated upon any street in this Village.
      4.   Upon the sale or other transfer of a licensed bicycle, the licensee shall remove the license sticker.
