A. Every member of the Police Department shall appear as a witness whenever this is necessary in a prosecution for a violation of a Village ordinance or a State or Federal law, but no such member shall receive any witness fee for such services in any action or suit to which the Village is a party.
B. Any police sergeant of the Village who is required to appear in court on a matter of Village business while off-duty shall receive, as additional compensation, the flat-rate stipend of one hundred ten dollars ($110.00). Such stipend shall only be granted once per off-duty day.
