The owner or occupant of each residence or residential unit in the village shall cooperate and comply with the village's recycling program. All recyclable materials shall be separated from other solid waste, grouped together by like materials and placed in specifically designated containers for collection according to the collection schedule of the village. "Recyclable materials", as herein defined, shall include newspapers, glass, aluminum, bimetal (tin), plastic (HDPE, PET), or such other materials as is determined by the village.
Owners or operators of multi-family dwellings must provide separate containers for recyclable materials in conjunction with the village's recycling program in or outside of the residential units and must notify tenants of the Village's recycling program.
All recyclable materials collected and deposited as provided in this section shall be the property of the Village and it shall be unlawful for any individual to remove or confiscate any recyclable materials placed in designated containers.
