A. Office Created; Appointment; Term: There is hereby created the office of Assistant Village Treasurer who shall be appointed by the Mayor and Board of Trustees and shall serve at their discretion.
B. Bond: The Assistant Village Treasurer shall give a bond before entering upon the duties of the office in such sum as is required by the Mayor and Board of Trustees, but such amount shall not be less than that required by statute. This bond shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of the Assistant Treasurer and shall be conditioned to indemnify for any loss by reason of any neglect of duty or any act of the Assistant Treasurer.
C. Duties: The Assistant Village Treasurer shall assist the Village Treasurer in the performance of those duties prescribed for said Treasurer by statute or ordinance. In the absence of the Village Treasurer due to sickness, vacation or vacancy of office, the Assistant Village Treasurer shall assume the responsibilities of the office of Village Treasurer, including the executing of checks and drafts, depositing of funds, keeping of applicable records, including books of account, and such other duties of the Treasurer as is prescribed by ordinance during the period of absence of the Village Treasurer.
