There is hereby established the position of Deputy Mayor who shall be a current sitting trustee designated by the Mayor in his sole discretion. In the event the Mayor is unable to attend a regular or special meeting of the Board or a meeting of the Board as a Committee of the Whole, the Deputy Mayor shall act as temporary mayor or chairman pro tem and preside over the meetings. In the event the Mayor is incapacitated and unable to perform the duties of Mayor, the Deputy Mayor shall act as mayor pro tem and perform the duties of the Mayor until such time as the Mayor recovers and is thus able to perform the duties of his office. The designation shall be made by a written submittal by the Mayor to the Village Clerk and can change from time to time by the Mayor in his sole discretion.
