(A) Appointment of Zoning Enforcement Officer. The Zoning Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council.
(B) Powers and duties of the Zoning Enforcement Officer. The Zoning Enforcement Officer shall enforce this chapter, and in addition thereto and in furtherance of said authority, shall:
(1) Conduct inspection of buildings, structures and use of land to determine compliance with the terms of this chapter;
(2) Assign street numbers in accordance with the city’s current street numbering system;
(3) Maintain permanent and current records of this chapter, including, but not limited to, all maps, amendments, uses on review, variances, appeals and applications therefor;
(4) Provide and maintain a public information service relative to all matters arising out of this chapter;
(5) Forward to the Commission all applications for amendments to this chapter;
(6) Transmit to the Board applications for appeals, variances, uses on review or other matters on which the Board is required to pass under this chapter; and
(7) Initiate, direct and review from time to time a study of the provisions of the chapter and make reports of his or her recommendations to the Board.
