The Village hereby sets forth the following time periods during which Village residents may set out or place refuse and solid waste for collection:
(a) It shall be the duty of the owner, occupant or person in charge of the premises to place or cause to be placed, at a location designated by the Village, any refuse or solid waste for collection, in container(s) approved by the Village, after 6:00p.m. on the day preceding the collection day and before 7:00a.m. on the collection day, or during any other prescribed times as may be established by the Village Administrator.
(b) Any refuse or solid waste container that is set out after 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection may be subject to being declared as non-collectible.
(c) In the event that any such refuse or solid waste is declared as non-collectible by the Village and if it is not collected by the Collector, it shall be the responsibility of the owner, occupant or person in charge of the premises to remove any such container from the curb or adjacent roadway no later than 12:00 midnight on the day of the scheduled collection.
(d) Refuse and solid waste container(s) shall be removed from the curb or adjacent roadway no later than 12:00 midnight on the day of collection.
(e) When not in use for collection as described herein, containers shall remain in a covered location obscured from view when possible. Where no covered location is available, containers must be stored in a fenced area, back yard or area otherwise not visible from the street.
(f) The deadlines established in Section 951.03 (c) and (d) may be extended for a resident by up to six hours by the Village Administrator or the Chief of Police upon a showing that the resident was not home before the deadline established by such subsections. (Ord. 926. Passed 9-16-13.)
