Sec. 2-2-16 Publication and Effect of Ordinances.
   (a)   All ordinances adopted by the Village Board shall, at the discretion and direction of the Village Board, be published in a newspaper of general circulation for the Village of Edgar as a Class I Notice under Chapter 985, Wis. Stats., when required by state law or be legally posted in the Village of Edgar as prescribed in Section 2-1-5.
   (b)   Notwithstanding any provision herein, if any ordinance adopted by the Village Board for the Village of Edgar contains any penalty or forfeiture said ordinance shall be published as a Class 1 Notice under Chapter 985, Wis. Stats., or be legally posted.
   (c)   If an ordinance resolution, motion or other action is legally posted under this Section, the Village Administrator-Clerk-Treasurer shall sign an affidavit attesting that the item was posted as required by this Section and stating the date and place of posting. The affidavit shall be filed with other records under the jurisdiction of the Village Administrator-Clerk- Treasurer.
   (d)   All ordinances shall take effect and be in force from and after passage and publication/posting thereof, unless otherwise provided.
