It shall be unlawful for any person, except duly authorized law enforcement officers in the course of their official duties, to discharge, shoot, fire or explode, or cause to be discharged, shot, fired or exploded any firearm, including, but not limited to, any type of arms, device or toy designed to forcibly hurl a projectile or missile at any time or under any circumstances within any recreation area or facility, or to carry any firearms in any recreation area or facility. Archery equipment, air rifles, slingshots, or other similar devices may be shot or discharged only on those areas, if any, within the recreation areas or facilities, which may be specifically set aside and designated for such purposes and so posted and only then under such rules and regulations as may be prescribed by the Town Manager.
