§ 98.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   PARK ACTIVITIES. Those activities which fall within the general classification areas of: arts and crafts; athletics; sports and games; dances; hobbies; music; nature and outing; reading; writing and speaking; social recreation; patriotic and fraternal events and activities; and volunteer services.
   PARK AREAS.
      (1)   Colonial Park is that property located in the south section of town of South Broad Street and on West Water Street. The park is located on the Edenton Bay near the Council chambers and across from the Barker House.
      (2)   Queen Anne Park is that property located on the left off of South Broad Street on East Water Street. The park is adjacent to the Old Hayes Bridge with the Edenton Bay directly behind it.
      (3)   Hollowell Park is that property located on West Queen Street extended. Filbert Creek runs beside it.
      (4)   Paxton Playground is that property located in the northeast section of town off of Old Hertford Road on Paxton Lane, located six lots down off of Old Hertford Road.
      (5)   Morgan Park Playground is that property located in the southwest section of town off of West Queen Street extended, bordered by Douglas Avenue, Robbin Lane and Barker Street. The playground is adjacent to the Immanuel Baptist Church and School.
      (6)   West Gale Playground is that property located in the west section of town off of Twiddy Avenue, left on West Gale extended, and bordered by Edenton Housing Authority and the town water tower.
      (7)   Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue Playground is that property located in the west section of town on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue across from Valentine Avenue and adjacent to the Albermarle Street Community Building.
      (8)   Griffin Playground is that property in the northeast section of town located on East Freemason Street and North Oakum Street and adjacent to Hicks Football Field.
      (9)   Filberts Creek Park is that property in the west section of town on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue.
      (10)   Miscellaneous areas and facilities used by the town for recreational activities, wherever located.
     RECREATION AREAS AND FACILITIES. The outdoor and indoor properties and/or facilities on, in or from which people derive their opportunity for the pursuit of happiness or engage in recreation activities that are owned, controlled, operated or leased by the town within or without the corporate limits of the town.
