The owner of a hotel or motel shall install and maintain in full operating condition an early fire warning system on or after December 31, 1993. Such system shall include detectors placed in each guest room, suite or sleeping area. In buildings having a basement or cellar, an additional smoke detector shall be installed and maintained in the basement or cellar in a location approved by the Fire Chief.
