553.08 LIGHTING AT GRADE CROSSINGS.
   (a)   All railroad companies having part of their line in the City are hereby required to light such line where it intersects public streets in the same manner as the City streets are lighted. Lights at such railroad grade crossings shall be of a type and intensity as is determined by Council to be necessary to insure public safety.
   (b)   All such lights at railroad grade crossings shall be kept burning the same number of hours each night as are other street lights in the City.
   (c)   The Director of Finance is hereby directed to give notice to all such railroad companies of the existence of this section by delivering a copy thereof to the person having the management of each such company or to the regular agent of each such company in the City. If any such company fails to light its line in conformity with this section within twenty days from receipt of the copy herein required to be sent, then such lighting shall be provided by the City at the expense of the company and the cost thereof made a lien upon the property of the company, as provided by law. It shall be the duty of Council to order such lighting to be done by the same company having the contract to light the City streets, at the same price per lamp paid by the City for such lamps.

   (d)   Whoever violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
