(a) Trees shall be provided by the subdivider in the public rights-of-way in all subdivisions in accordance with standards and specifications of the City Manager and the East Palestine Tree Commission. Trees which are resistant to damage and disease and which do not cause interference with underground utilities, street lighting, or visibility at street intersections shall be specified. Existing trees shall be retained in new subdivisions wherever possible.
(b) Tree plantings shall meet the following specifications, unless otherwise designated by the East Palestine Tree Commission:
(1) One and one-half inch diameter measured at two feet off the ground;
(2) Hardy for this climate zone;
(3) Must live and be in healthy conditions after 12 months;
(4) Must be planted a maximum of 30 feet apart and within the tree lawn.
