(a) The Police Division shall be classified as required by law and shall be composed of a Chief of Police, two sergeants, three patrolmen and other members, who shall receive their respective salaries, payable 100 percent from the General Fund, as per a separate contract.
(b) The sergeants and patrolmen shall be classified as:
(1) Probationary Patrolman Class II (Beginning men with less than six months experience);
(2) Probationary Patrolman Class I (Those employed for at least six months, or having the equivalent experience as certified by the Chief of Police);
(3) Patrolman Class IV (Those employed for at least one year or having equivalent experience as certified by the Chief of Police;
(4) Patrolman Class III (Those employed for at least eighteen months, or having equivalent experience as certified by the Chief of Police);
(5) Patrolman Class II (Those employed for at least two years or having equivalent experience as certified by the Chief of Police);
(6) Patrolman Class I (Those employed for at least three years or having equivalent experience as certified by the Chief of Police); or
(7) Sergeants (As per Civil Service requirements and contract).
(c) The Police Division shall include an Auxiliary Police Unit, as set forth in Section 242.05. In addition to the salary rate, each auxiliary police officer shall receive time and a half for each hour worked on a holiday. Each auxiliary policeman shall receive a clothing allowance of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per year.
(d) The Police Division shall also include two part-time school police.
