(a) Appointment. There is created the position of Physical Development Officer, who shall be appointed by the Director of the Department of Planning and Development, subject to the approval of Council. The Physical Development Officer need not be a resident of the City at the time of his appointment, but shall become a resident thereof within six months after his appointment.
(b) Duties.
(1) The Physical Development Officer shall serve as and be the Housing Inspector, Zoning Inspector and Building Inspector, as herein defined and enumerated in these Codified Ordinances.
(2) In furtherance of the Department's objectives, the Physical Development Officer shall also perform such other duties as are conferred by the Director.
(3) The Physical Development Officer shall also supervise the Field Inspector.
