933.11  COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF INFECTIOUS WASTES; PENALTY.
   (a)   Collection by City.  Infectious waste generated by an individual for the purposes of his own care or treatment at home shall be transported and disposed of in the same manner as other solid wastes and refuse that is collected, conveyed and disposed of by the City under this chapter.  All other generators of infectious waste shall collect, convey and dispose of infectious waste in accordance with Ohio R.C. Chapter 3734 and any applicable regulations of the Ohio EPA.
   (b)   Pre-Collection Practices.  All individual who generate infectious waste for their own care or treatment at home shall place all infectious wastes as defined in Section 933.01(f) in rigid, tightly closed, puncture-resistant containers before they are transported off of the premises for disposal or placed for collection by the City.  Containers containing such wastes shall be clearly labeled with the words “SHARPS” on all sides of the container.
   (c)   Penalty.  Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.
