1-14-3: DUTY OF AUDITING COMMITTEE:
It shall be the duty of the auditing committee of the council, when allowing any account or demand against the city, to designate the respective fund out of which said account or demand is payable. When claims are audited and allowed against funds to the credit of which there is no money in the treasury, but for which taxes have been levied, warrants shall be drawn therefor by the clerk and registered by the treasurer, and marked, "not paid for want of funds", and the said warrants shall be paid when the taxes shall have been collected in the order in which they are registered, but shall not bear interest.
