§ 111.004 TAG DAY SOLICITATIONS.
   (A)   The solicitation of the public in the public streets, buildings, and grounds, commonly classified as tag day solicitations, by solicitors for charitable, benevolent, or religious institutions or organizations is prohibited. The intention of this section is to abolish so-called tag days and similar solicitations; provided, that the provisions of this section shall not apply where the Mayor has first granted a permit for solicitation.
   (B)   The officer or representative of any charitable, benevolent, or religious institution or organization or any person representing himself or herself as an officer or agent thereof who shall solicit contributions from the public on the streets of the city in violation of the provisions of this section shall be subject to the penalty provided in this code.
