§ 117.002 LICENSES.
   (A)   Required. No person shall engage in the business of pawnbroker in the city without first obtaining a license therefor as provided in this subchapter.

   (B)   Fee; application. The annual fee for a pawnbroker’s license shall be the sum of an amount as set by the city from time to time which shall be paid to the city before an application is made to the City Controller in compliance with the provisions of this subchapter.

   (C)   Issuance. Upon the filing of the application for a pawnbroker’s license, if the City Controller shall find the financial standing and character of the applicant are such that the business will be operated honestly, fairly, and efficiently, the City Controller shall issue a license to the applicant as provided in this subchapter.
