§ 112.13 INSURANCE REQUIRED.
   (A)   Each and every person owning and operating a vehicle as a taxicab shall take out and maintain, during the time such vehicle or vehicles shall be operated as a taxicab, public liability and property damage insurance as shall protect him or her while operating the vehicle or vehicles from claims arising out of damages to persons or property, including bodily injury and death as a result of the operation of the vehicle or vehicles.
   (B)   The insurance shall be in the form of a standard public liability policy and shall be in an amount of not less than $1,000,000 for injury, including accidental death, to any one person, and a like amount for each person for a total of not less than $2,000,000 for any one accident by way of personal injury and for property damage of not less than $500,000 for any one accident, which policy shall be filed with the City Clerk and shall be a condition and a prerequisite of the obtaining of a valid permit.
   (C)   A like amount of insurance shall be carried for each vehicle operated as a taxicab.
