(a) The Municipal Court of the City shall have criminal jurisdiction over violations of the City laws and ordinances, and also the criminal jurisdiction of a magistrate. A person convicted in the Municipal Court shall have the right of an appeal de novo to the court having jurisdiction over appeals.
(b) The Municipal Court shall have the jurisdiction of all violations of the Codified Ordinances and future ordinances, orders, resolutions, committed within the City or on or in any river or creek adjacent thereto in all criminal cases.
(c) The Municipal Court shall have jurisdiction in all civil actions arising within the City in which the amount or value in controversy does not exceed three hundred dollars ($300.00). (1978 Code Sec. 16-1)
