This article shall not apply to any person who personally does any plumbing, altering or repairing of plumbing of any buildings or improvements owned by him or his wife, son, daughter, father, mother, grandfather or grandmother, provided a proper plumbing permit has been obtained and provided that such work is approved by the Building Inspector.
