No person who is the owner, agent, operator or other person in charge of any vehicle shall permit such vehicle to remain parked, standing or abandoned upon any street for a continuous period longer than 48 hours. This section shall not be construed as affecting any other parking regulation now in effect or that may hereafter become effective but shall be construed as an additional parking limitation. The purpose of this section is to prohibit continuous long-time parking and the storage of vehicles on municipal streets.
