§ 31.17  ACTING CITY MANAGER.
   The President, with the concurrence of four or more members, shall appoint or designate an acting Manager during a vacancy in the Office of City Manager and shall make a permanent appointment within 180 days from the effective date of the vacancy.  The Council may require that the City Manager reside within a specified distance from the city’s nearest boundary as permitted by Public Act 212 of 1999, being M.C.L.A. §§ 15.601 to 15.603, or as otherwise permitted by law.
