Any person convicted of a violation of any provision of this chapter, industrial user discharge permit, orders, or compliance schedules shall be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000, or by imprisonment of not more than 90 days, or by both the fine and imprisonment. Each day in which any such violation shall continue shall be deemed a separate offense.
