A local disaster may be declared only by the mayor, or his interim emergency successor, as provided in the emergency interim executive succession act 1 . It shall expire not later than the adjournment of the first regular meeting of the corporate authorities after the state of emergency is declared. Any order or proclamation declaring, continuing, or terminating a local disaster shall be given prompt and general publicity and shall be filed promptly with the city clerk.
