Each member of the police department shall also have the power and authority to execute city warrants or other legal process without the limits of the city and within such distance therefrom as is authorized by law in all cases where any provision of this code shall prescribe a penalty for the violation of any of its provisions for persons residing, acting or doing business without the limits of the city.
