9-1-12: CUSTODY OF POLICE RECORDS AND PROPERTY:
The chief of police shall have the care, custody and control of all books, records, equipment and other property belonging to the police department and of all stolen goods seized and retained by police authority. Upon the expiration of his term of office or his resignation or removal therefrom he shall surrender to his successor in office all books, records, equipment and property of every description in his possession belonging to the city or appertaining to his office.
