(A) There is hereby established a fire department, which shall be under the jurisdiction and control of the city manager. The head of the fire department shall be the chief of the fire department, who shall be appointed by the city manager for an indefinite period of time. The fire department shall include such positions as set forth in subsection (B) and such number of firemen and other employees as the council may determine necessary. (B) The Fire Department shall embrace the Chief of the Fire Department, a Deputy Chief, three (3) Fire Captains, three (3) Fire Lieutenants, and such number of firemen as the Council may determine to be necessary. (Ord. 2923, 8-19-2013; amd. 2020 Code)
