6-18-10: ACTION BY CITY COUNCIL:
A copy of the resolution and report of Plan Commission shall be sent to the City Council. The City Council shall, within sixty (60) days after receiving said report, either accept or reject the recommendation of the Plan Commission. A majority vote of the City Council shall be necessary for approval for the nominated landmark or historic district to receive a historic preservation designation. If the City Council approves said designation, a notice will be sent to the property owner (s) and the Plan Commission, and the City Clerk shall record with the County Recorder of Deeds a copy of the ordinance evidencing that the area has been designated as such and that buildings located within the boundaries of the historic district shall be subject to the provisions of this Chapter of this Code.
