This Chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Historic Preservation Chapter". The purpose of this Chapter is to promote the educational, cultural and economic welfare of the public of the City by preserving and protecting historic sites, streets and neighborhoods which serve as visible reminders of the history and heritage of the City, State and Nation. The provisions of this Chapter are designed to ensure that development in such areas will not be incompatible with the historic heritage of the area and the exterior design of buildings will be in harmony with the historic shrines in the area.
