2-1-6: LOCAL DISASTER EMERGENCIES:
   A.   Declaration Of Emergency; Effect:
      1.   The village president or village board of trustees only may declare a local disaster emergency. If declared by the village president, it shall not continue for a period in excess of seven (7) days except by or with consent of the village board of trustees. Any order or proclamation declaring, continuing or terminating a local disaster emergency shall be given prompt and general publicity, and shall be filed promptly with the village clerk.
      2.   The effect of a local disaster emergency is to activate the response and recovery aspects of the village emergency preparedness plan and to authorize the furnishing of aid and assistance thereunder. (Ord. ESDA-0401, 4-27-2004)
   B.   National Incident Management System Adopted: The president and the board of trustees of the village hereby adopt the national incident management system (NIMS) as its system of preparing for and responding to disaster incidents. (Ord. NI-1-06, 4-12-2006)
