A. If an elected official cannot attend a regularly scheduled board meeting, he or she will notify the mayor as soon as possible and explain why he or she can not attend. All elected officials will be given two (2) excused absences per fiscal year. Emergency situations will be handled on a case by case basis by the mayor.
B. If an elected official missed two (2) or more meetings in a fiscal year and did not contact the mayor, the board of trustees will take appropriate action, up to and including voluntary resignation from the position. (Ord. EO-00-01, 9-27-2000)
