7-1-9: TREES AND SHRUBS:
   A.   Property Of Village: All trees, shrubs or other growing vegetation, growing upon the streets, alleys or other public thoroughfares of the village shall be and it is hereby ordained that they are the property of the village, and such rules for the care of same as shall be made from time to time by the president and board of trustees shall be the rules of government and care of said trees, shrubs and other growing vegetation.
   B.   Village Board Control: All trees, shrubs or other growing vegetation adjacent to the streets, alleys or other public thoroughfares of the village, while not the property of the village, shall be under the care and control of the president and board of trustees, and the rules for the care of same shall be applied as in this section provided.
   C.   Interference With Wires; Removal Or Trimming: Whenever any such trees, shrubs or other growing vegetation shall in any way interfere with wires, poles or other equipment of any telephone, telegraph, electric line or other public utility wires or equipment, the same may be ordered removed or trimmed to such height, or will be placed in such condition so that it will cease to be an interference to the equipment aforesaid.
   D.   Abatement Procedure: If at any time any person shall be injured or have cause to have such trees, shrubs or other growing vegetation removed, trimmed or otherwise altered, the procedure for abatement of nuisances, as provided for in title 4, chapter 2 of this code, shall be followed.
