§ 6-5-3 SIGNAGE, FENCE AND LEASH REQUIREMENT FOR GUARD DOGS OR ATTACK DOGS.
   (A)   All owners, keepers, harborers, lessees or custodians of any guard dog or attack dog shall display in a prominent place on their premises, and at each entrance or exit to the area in which such dog is confined, a sign, easily readable by the public, using the words "Beware of Dog" or wording of similar import in letters at least two (2) inches in height.
   (B)   All owners, keepers, harborers, lessees or custodians of any guard dog or attack dog shall securely contain, enfence, restrain and confine said animal at all times as follows:
      (1)   While enclosed in the dwelling of its owner, it shall be secured so that it cannot run outside freely; and
      (2)   While located outdoors on the property of its owner, it shall be enclosed in an above ground fence of no less than six (6) feet in height above the ground's surface and below the ground's surface as needed to prevent dig outs; and
      (3)   While located off the property of its owner or keeper, it shall be unlawful for said dog to run at large and the dog shall be on a leash not exceeding seven (7) feet in length and shall at all times remain under the control of the person accompanying the dog.
   (C)   This section shall not apply to any guard dog or attack dog owned or used by law enforcement agencies.
