The purposes of this chapter are to acknowledge the importance of trees as a means to promote the City’s public image; to promote continued financial support from the City to manage its public tree resources through planting, maintenance, removal, and replacement of trees; to regulate the placement and removal of trees; to safeguard public health and public safety; to develop and protect forested public property; to promote methods for disease control and insect control; and to promote public education efforts regarding trees.
