(a) No grading, leveling, or excavating upon a burial space shall be allowed. Mounds or any other obstacles on or around gravesites which hinder the free use of a lawn mower or other gardening apparatus are prohibited.
(b) No shrubs or trees of any type shall be planted without permission from the Cemetery Sexton. Any of the foregoing items planted without such approval may be removed by the Village employees. The Village reserves the right to remove or trim any tree or shrub located within the cemetery in the interest of maintaining proper appearance and the use of the cemetery.
(c) Winter wreaths or grave blankets are permitted between November 15th and April 15th.
(d) The planting of flowers is prohibited. Flowers, etc., must be contained on the headstone or the foundation or can be in a vase immediately adjacent to the sides (not front or back) of the headstone. Sheppard hooks may be used if they are abutting the foundation. The Village employees shall have the right to remove all flowers when in their judgment they become unsightly, faded or wilted.
(e) Landscape materials (i.e., bark, mulch, stone, etc.) fencing, or curbing other than earth or sod are prohibited. (Ord. 06-10. Passed 7-17-06.)
