(A) The municipal officers of said village shall consist of a President and six Trustees, a Village Clerk, a Superintendent of Streets, and a Village Attorney. Extra police can be appointed by the President and Board of Trustees with the advice and consent of a majority vote of the Board of Trustees.

(B) (1) All of the officers of said village, whether elected or appointed, shall, before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, take and subscribe to the following oath or affirmation:
“I,_____________, do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Illinois, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of_______________according to the best of my ability.”
(2) Such oath or affirmation, when subscribed and taken, shall be filed in the office of the Village Clerk, and all such officers, before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, shall enter into and execute bond to the village, with security to be approved by the President and Board of Trustees, conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties of his or her office, and the prompt payment of all moneys received by such officers, according to law, and the ordinances of said village.

(C) No person shall be eligible to any office of the village who is not a qualified elector of said village, and who shall not have resided therein at least one year next preceding his or her election or appointment.

(D) No officer of the village, during his or her official term, shall be directly or indirectly concerned or interested in any contract, work, or business of said village, or in the sale to the village of any article, the expense of which is to be paid out of the Village Treasury.

(E) No President, Trustees, or Village Clerk shall hold any other office under the village government during the term of office to which he or she has been elected or appointed.

(F) The President, Trustees, and Village Constable shall each be conservators of the peace, and as such, shall exercise within said village the powers conferred upon them by the statutes of the state.

(G) The salaries of all village officers, whether elected or appointed, shall be such as the President and Board of Trustees shall determine by ordinance, and when such salary shall be fixed, the same shall not be increased or diminished during the term for which said officers were elected or appointed.

(H) In case the President, or any other village officer, shall at any time during his or her continuance in office be guilty of a palpable omission of official duty, or shall willfully or corruptly be guilty of oppression, misconduct, or malfeasance, in the discharge of any of the duties of his or her office, he or she shall be guilty of a petty offense, and the court in which such conviction is had may enter in order removing such officer from office.
