147.14 ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE.
In the exercise of the administrative powers conferred by Charter Section 3.05, the Mayor, or in the absence of the Mayor, a member of the Board of Control, may place an employee on administrative leave with pay. Administrative leave shall be granted only in circumstances where the health or safety of the employee or another person, or the safety of property entrusted to the employee's care, could be adversely affected. Compensation for administrative leave shall be equal to the employee's regular rate of pay. The length of such leave shall not exceed the time reasonably necessitated by the situation justifying the allowance of leave. Discretion as to the continuing necessity for such leave shall rest solely with the Mayor.
