Chapter 124, and this Chapter 147 of the Codified Ordinances. The Clerk of the Civil Service Commission shall be compensated in the manner and amount prescribed by ordinance. Each examiner and assistant appointed by the Commission shall be compensated in the manner and amount determined by the Commission; provided, however, that if any examiner or assistant is an official or employee of the City, the performance of services delegated to him or her in such capacity by the Commission shall be deemed part of his or her duties and shall be rendered without additional compensation other than overtime pay, compensatory time off and such other benefits as may accrue by reason of the expenditure of employment time in the performance of such service.
The Civil Service Commission may direct the City Administrator to execute contracts with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services to furnish services and/or facilities of the Department to the Commission in the administration of the merit system. In addition to their allowed compensation, the Commissioners and Clerk of the Civil Service Commission and all examiners, assistants and other appointees of the Commission shall receive reimbursement for necessary travel and other expenses reasonably incurred in the discharge of their duties. The Commission may incur necessary expenses for stationery, printing and other supplies appropriate to the proper discharge of its duties. The Finance Director shall pay all expenditures authorized by the Civil Service Commission pursuant to the authority of this section from General Funds allocated to the Commission's use by the annual budget.
