There is hereby established a Bureau of Fire Prevention under the supervision of the Chief of the Fire Division. The Chief may detail members of the Division as inspectors as he or she from time to time deems necessary. The Chief shall recommend to the Board of Control the employment of technical inspectors who, if they are to be full-time permanent employees, shall be selected through an examination to determine their fitness for the position. The examination shall be open to members and nonmembers of the Division. The Bureau shall enforce the Fire Prevention Code of the City, being Part Fifteen of these Codified Ordinances.
