139.06 ACCEPTANCE OF SEIZED AND FORFEITED PROPERTY; LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND.
   (a)    The Mayor is authorized to accept cash, vehicles and other tangible personal property forfeited to the Municipality or Division of Police by any order, judgment or decree issued by a court of record of the United States or any state, territory or possession of the United States pursuant to laws governing the disposition of property seized in the course of a law enforcement investigation. Any acceptance of real estate forfeited to the Municipality or Police Division by the terms of any such order, judgment or decree shall be accepted only by ordinance of Council and the judicial order, judgment or decree shall not be deemed to convey title to the Municipality or any Municipal agency prior to the effective date of the ordinance accepting the conveyance.
   (b)   The Mayor is directed to place all cash received pursuant to subsection (a) hereof into the special purpose Law Enforcement Trust Fund created by Ordinances 4824 and 4825 to be used solely for law enforcement purposes. Such Fund shall be maintained separate and apart from all other Municipal funds and shall be administered by the Finance Director in accordance with general laws governing the administration of special purpose funds.
   (c)   All vehicles and property, forfeited to the Municipality or Division of Police pursuant to subsection (a) hereof shall be used solely for law enforcement purposes or sold in a manner authorized by general ordinance. Proceeds from the sale of any and all such property shall be deposited to the Law Enforcement Trust Fund to be used solely for law enforcement purposes.
