(a) Members of Council electing to enroll in the Buckeye Ohio Risk Management Association-City of Defiance Health and Dental Care Plan or in any other program pursuant to which the Municipality provides accident, accidental death, accidental dismemberment, dental, health, health maintenance, hospitalization, life, prescription drug, surgical, vision care, wellness or similar insurance coverage for the benefit of municipal employees and/or officials shall pay one hundred percent (100%) of the premiums assessed by the underwriter for the coverage extended to the member of Council and his or her insured dependents.
(b) Subsection (a) hereof does not apply to costs now or hereafter assessed pursuant to statute for benefits provided members of Council pursuant to the general laws of Ohio including, without limitation, laws pertaining to Workers’ Compensation and public employees’ retirement.
