1313.08 EXEMPTIONS FROM REGISTRATION.
   (a)    Any person employed by and working under the direction of a person, corporation, partnership or other business association to whom a contractor's certificate of registration has been issued is exempted from the requirements of this chapter for all work within the scope of his or her employment that is authorized by the certificate or certificates issued to the person's employer.
   (b)    The owner of a single family dwelling house may carry out any work governed by this Building Code without a certificate of registration otherwise required by this chapter; provided such owner:
      (1)   Maintains his or her principal residence on the premises where such work is performed;
      (2)   Obtains an permit for all work undertaken; and,
      (3)   Refrains from all use of any improvement constructed or installed until the work has been inspected and found to be in compliance with all applicable provisions of the Ohio Residential Code for One, Two and Three Family Dwellings, the Permanent Foundations Guide for Manufactured Housing and any other technical codes adopted by Ordinance.
