723.08 NOTICE THAT PEDDLERS ARE UNINVITED.
Any person who does not wish to entertain sales calls by peddlers may file notice with the Chief of Police that peddlers are not invited to the premises of his or her residence. The Chief of Police shall maintain a record of the name and address of all persons who have so registered and shall inform all persons to whom licenses are issued under this chapter that sales calls are not permitted at the residence of any person who is so registered. Licensees shall be permitted to inspect the register during normal business hours of the Police Division and shall be provided copies of such pages thereof as may be requested at the charge then provided for duplication of public records. For purposes of license revocation, a licensee shall be deemed to have constructive knowledge that the occupant of a residence does not invite solicitors or peddlers upon the premises if the residence is properly registered with the Chief of Police and is identifiable from the street by the presence of the occupant’s name and address on a curb-side mail box or by the presence of a house number on the structure. Licensees shall be deemed to have actual knowledge that peddlers are not invited to any residential structure that is posted with a conspicuous sign stating “Peddlers Not Invited”, “No Soliciting” or “No Trespassing”.
