509.10 MINORS CURFEW.
   (a)    As used in this section, "child" means any person who is under the age of eighteen years.
   (b)    No child shall remain, idle, wander, stroll or play in any public place, or cruise about without a set destination in any place in the City, between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. of the following day, E.S.T., Sunday through Thursday, and between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 5:00 a.m., E.S.T., Friday through Saturday, and when Daylight Savings Time is in effect, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. of the following day, E.D.T., Sunday through Saturday, unless accompanied by a parent, guardian, custodian, adult spouse or other adult person having custody or control of the child, or unless the child is on an emergency errand, specific business or activity directed or permitted by his or her parent, guardian, adult spouse or other adult person having the care and custody of the child, or where the presence of the child is connected with or required by some legitimate employment, trade, profession or occupation.
   (c)    Any child attending a special function or entertainment of any church, church group or school that requires the child to be out at a later hour than that called for in subsection (b) hereof shall be exempt from this section, provided that the church, church group or school has registered in advance with the Chief of Police or his or her designate to have children stay out to this later hour. The registrant shall state the time the function or entertainment will end, and the children who attend the function shall be required to be in their homes or usual places of abode within one-half hour after the function is ended.
   (d)    Whoever violates any of the provisions of this section shall be dealt with as an unruly child, as defined in Ohio R.C. 2151.022, and shall be fined not more than fifty dollars ($50.00), and shall be subject to any other sanctions available to the Juvenile Court for dealing with an unruly child.
